Why PagarBook is not working: start here
When PagarBook is not working, the cause is usually one of four things: an outdated app, a phone permission (location or camera) that was switched off, a punch made outside the geofence your employer set, or an attendance entry still waiting for approval. Work through the checks below in order; most problems clear up within the first three.
First, find out whether the problem is the phone or the account. If the owner can open the web dashboard in a browser and see the data, the account is fine and the issue is on the phone.
Attend Mitra isn’t affiliated with PagarBook; we make a competing attendance app. PagarBook-specific points below come from PagarBook’s own product pages and app listings, and the phone checks are general Android steps that apply to most attendance apps.
General phone checks for the PagarBook app
These steps aren’t unique to PagarBook, but they fix most “app not opening” or “stuck loading” complaints:
- Update PagarBook from Google Play or the App Store; its Play Store listing was last updated in October 2026 with bug fixes.
- Avoid an old-version APK from a third-party site; it may not work with the current service and isn’t from the official store.
- Switch between mobile data and Wi-Fi, and make sure the phone’s date and time are set automatically.
- On Android, open Settings > Apps > PagarBook and clear the cache (not the data), then reopen the app.
- Restart the phone and free up storage if it is almost full.
PagarBook app login not working
PagarBook’s staff app is designed to open on the staff member’s own name once they are set up, so most login trouble comes down to which record the phone is linked to.
- Staff: confirm with your owner that you were added as staff, and that the contact details on your staff record match the ones you are signing in with.
- Staff: if you changed your phone number or handset, ask the owner to update your staff record before trying again.
- Owners: on a computer, use the Login button on PagarBook’s website to reach the web dashboard (web.pagarbook.com) and check the staff record is active.
- Owners with supervisors: check that the supervisor was added under manager roles and given access to the right staff.
PagarBook attendance not marking from the staff app
In the staff app, a punch is a selfie plus location: the employee taps Punch In, the camera stamps the time and place, and they use Swipe to submit. PagarBook lets employers allow punches only inside a geofence, so a punch from the wrong place may not go through or may need approval.
- Allow Camera and Location permission for PagarBook in phone settings, and turn on precise or high-accuracy location.
- Stand at the workplace and wait a few seconds for a fresh GPS fix, especially indoors.
- Make sure you completed the swipe to submit, not just the selfie.
- Working at a customer site? Raise an On-duty Request so the day doesn’t read as absent.
- Still failing? Tell your owner the exact error message and the time; they can mark or correct the entry.
Attendance not showing for the owner? Check approvals
If staff say they punched but the register looks wrong, look at the approval queue before assuming a bug. PagarBook routes leave, overtime, expense claims and attendance corrections into one queue, and with two approval levels a request can be sitting with a supervisor before it reaches you.
For a missed punch, approve the correction or override the entry manually, rather than asking the employee to punch again on a later day. If you are writing house rules for this, our guide to an attendance regularization policy has a ready template, and handling a missed punch before salary day covers the payroll side.
PagarBook Lens or iD not syncing attendance
PagarBook says Lens and the iD device keep marking when the internet drops and sync once the connection returns, so a gap usually fills in by itself. If it doesn’t:
- Check the device has power and Wi-Fi; PagarBook iD is meant to stay plugged in and on Wi-Fi.
- Confirm your subscription is active; PagarBook’s listings say Lens needs a business subscription, and iD runs on active Lens and Web plans.
- If one person is no longer recognised after a big change in appearance, re-enrol their face; PagarBook says a quick re-enrolment handles this.
- Keep the Lens phone facing the entrance at face height, with a charger connected.
When to contact PagarBook support
If the web dashboard won’t load either, or data is missing after a sync, contact PagarBook. Its website lists WhatsApp support and a callback option, Monday to Sunday, 8 am to 8 pm. Send the staff name, date, time of the punch and a screenshot of any error. For salary and subscription questions, see our notes on PagarBook’s plans and what stays free, and for first-time setup, the PagarBook how-to guide. If you manage staff on more than one app, our guide to punching in across HR apps shows where each one keeps its attendance screen.
How Attend Mitra handles the same problems
Attend Mitra’s apps hit the same real-world issues (weak GPS, a switched-off permission, a forgotten punch), so here is how we handle each:
- Each failed check shows which one failed (face, GPS geofence or office Wi-Fi), and the clock-in failed checklist has the fix for each.
- No network at the site? The offline attendance mode stores punches and syncs when the phone is back online.
- Managers correct a past entry with Adjust in the attendance log, which is saved as an audited admin change.
- A one-off exception can be cleared with a manager’s override code instead of a phone call.
