How to mark attendance in Keka: the short answer
To mark attendance in Keka on a computer, sign in to your company’s Keka portal, open Me, then Attendance, and click Web Clock-In in the Actions card. On the Keka mobile app, open the Me tab, go to the Time section and tap clock in under Attendance; Keka describes it as a single tap. Clock out the same way at the end of your shift.
Which buttons you see depends on how your HR admin has set up Keka. Some companies allow only Web Clock-In from the office network, some allow Remote Clock-In with location, and some use a shared Keka Kiosk at the gate instead.
Attend Mitra isn’t affiliated with Keka; we make a competing attendance app, and the steps below come from Keka’s own help pages and app store listing.
Keka attendance login for employees
You can’t mark attendance until you can sign in. Keka accounts are created by your employer: you get an email invitation at your work address and register from it. If the invite never arrived, your HR admin can resend it.
Keka’s login guide lists four sign-in methods, and your admin decides which ones appear on your company’s login page:
- Sign in with your Microsoft work account.
- Sign in with your Google Workspace account.
- Use a Keka password with your work email, complete the captcha and enter the code sent to your email or mobile.
- Use Mobile OTP, which works only if your current mobile number is saved in Keka.
Clock in on the Keka web portal (Web Clock-In)
Web Clock-In is meant for desktop use in a browser. Your company may restrict it to the office IP network, in which case it works only while you’re on office Wi-Fi or LAN.
- Open your company’s Keka portal in a browser and sign in.
- Go to Me, then Attendance.
- In the Actions card, click Web Clock-In. If your admin requires a comment, type one.
- If the browser asks for location access, allow it. Keka still records a Web Clock-In if you deny it, because location is optional here, but no location is saved.
- Click the same button again to clock out when you finish work.
Mark attendance in the Keka app (Android and iPhone)
The Keka app’s App Store listing says you can clock in remotely while tagging your location and adding a selfie, and recent versions add face verification for attendance. Whether you get a selfie or face step depends on your company’s settings.
- Install the Keka app from Google Play or the App Store and sign in with the method your company uses.
- Open the Me tab; Time is the first section.
- Under Attendance, tap to clock in. Allow location access when asked.
- If your company has turned on a selfie or face check, complete it on screen.
- Tap again to clock out at the end of the day.
Keka remote clock-in, on duty and Keka Kiosk
Remote Clock-In is for marking attendance from outside the office and needs location access; Keka says it won’t go through if location is denied. It works from both a browser and the mobile app, and Keka notes the app gives more accurate location. If you’re visiting a client, your company may want an On Duty request instead, and a day at home may need a Work From Home request. Both sit in the same Actions card; the leave guide linked below walks through them.
Some workplaces skip personal phones entirely and use Keka Kiosk, a shared device at the entrance with facial recognition. If face recognition fails at the kiosk, Keka’s kiosk guide says you can ask your manager for a PIN fallback code.
How to check attendance in Keka
To check attendance in Keka, open Me, then Attendance, and look under Logs & Requests. Attendance Logs show each day’s entries, and a location pin appears on days where a location was captured. In the app, the same history sits under Me, then Time, then Attendance.
A day marked as a missing swipe usually means an entry log has no matching exit log. Keka pairs logs according to your company’s policy, so a forgotten clock-out shows up as incomplete.
How to regularise attendance in Keka
If you forgot to clock in or out, fix it with a regularisation request rather than waiting for payroll. Keka offers two request types, and your company can switch on one or both. For the wider policy side, see our guide on setting an attendance regularisation policy.
- Go to Me, then Attendance, and find the day you want to correct.
- In the Logs section on the right, click Options and choose Regularise. In the app, use the three-dot menu on the Clock In/Out page.
- Choose Add/Update Time Entries to enter the missing times. Penalties can still apply if the corrected logs don’t meet your tracking policy.
- Or choose Raise Regularisation Request to ask for the day to be exempted from penalties, and enter a note.
- Click Request. It goes to your manager for approval.
Keka attendance not working? Common fixes
Most failed clock-ins come down to settings, not bugs. Work through these before raising a helpdesk ticket:
- Remote Clock-In greyed out or failing: turn on location services and give the Keka app location permission.
- Web Clock-In refused: you may be outside the office IP range your admin allowed. Connect to office Wi-Fi or ask HR whether remote clock-in is enabled for you.
- Option missing from the Actions card: your capture scheme doesn’t include it. Only your HR admin can change that.
- App behaving oddly after a phone update: update the Keka app from your app store and sign in again.
- Locked out: an admin can send a password reset link to your registered email, or re-enable a disabled login from your profile.
- Regularisation refused for an older date: admins can set a window beyond which past-dated requests aren’t allowed, so raise them promptly.
Marking attendance in Attend Mitra instead
Attend Mitra is a phone-first alternative for teams that mostly clock in from sites, shops or the field. Employees clock in from the mobile app with a slide control; face, GPS geofence and office Wi-Fi checks run only if the company turns them on.
If your company uses Keka’s full HRMS for hiring, performance and payroll, staying makes sense. Attend Mitra suits smaller teams that want attendance, leave and payroll priced per employee, with offline punches for patchy signal. Comparing other tools? Start with our roundup of how attendance works across HR apps, or read whether Keka is free and how leave works in Keka. The Attend Mitra flow takes four steps:
- Open the Attend Mitra employee app and sign in.
- Slide to clock in on the Clock In-Out screen.
- Complete the selfie and face check or stay inside the geofence if your company requires it.
- Slide again to clock out. If a check fails, follow the clock-in troubleshooting steps.
