How to apply leave in Jibble: quick answer
To apply leave in Jibble, open the Jibble app, go to Menu and then Time Off, tap Request Time Off, choose the leave type (Jibble calls it a time off policy), pick your dates and tap Request. On the web app it's Time Off, then Request Time Off, then Save. The request stays pending until your manager approves it.
Attend Mitra isn't affiliated with Jibble; we make a competing attendance and leave app, and these steps come from Jibble's own help centre as of 22 October 2026. The leave types you see, and whether you can apply for hours or half days, are set by your company's Jibble admin.
Apply leave in the Jibble mobile app
Most employees apply from their phone. The steps are the same on Android and iPhone:
- Open the Jibble app and go to Menu, then Time Off.
- Tap Request Time Off.
- Choose a time off policy, for example Casual Leave, Sick Leave or Earned Leave, whatever names your admin created.
- Choose full day(s) and enter the start and end dates, tick half day and set the time range, or enter a start date with start and end times for leave in hours.
- Add a reason, and if needed take a photo with your phone, such as a medical certificate. Uploading an existing image from your gallery only works on the web app.
- Tap Request. The leave shows as pending in your time off overview.
Apply leave or half-day leave on the Jibble web app
The web app gives a few more options, including attaching up to three files (JPG, JPEG or PNG, up to 10 MB each). Jibble's half-day steps are written for the web platform.
- Go to Time Off and click Request Time Off (in some views the button reads Add Time Off).
- Select a time off policy and the start date. Leave the end date blank for a single day.
- For a half day, tick Half day and choose whether it falls at the beginning, middle or end of the day. Only policies counted in days allow half days.
- For leave in hours, such as a two-hour short leave, set the start and end time. Hour-based requests are capped at 24 hours.
- Add a reason, attach any supporting document and click Save.
Check your Jibble leave balance
Jibble keeps a running balance for every policy that has an entitlement. Note that the balance drops as soon as you request leave, even while it's still pending, and goes back up if the request is rejected or cancelled.
- On the app: go to Menu, then Time Off, and tap the Leave Balance tab.
- On the web: go to Time Off and click the Leave Balance tab.
- Read the columns for carried over, entitlement, amendments, taken and remaining days for each policy.
- To see why a balance changed, open the policy's history with the clock icon. Each entry shows who made the change and when.
Edit or cancel a leave request in Jibble
You can only change a request while it's pending. Once it's approved, ask your manager to cancel it.
- To edit on the app, go to Menu, then Time Off, open the pending request and tap edit, or swipe right and tap the pencil icon. Make the change and tap Save.
- To cancel on the app, open the request and tap Cancel request, or swipe right and tap the cancel icon, then confirm.
- On the web, use the pencil icon to edit or the X icon to cancel a pending request.
- If your company uses multi-level approvals, you can only edit or cancel before the first approver acts.
For admins: set up leave types in Jibble
Employees can only apply once time off policies exist, and policies are created in the web app by owners and admins. Go to Time Off & Holidays, open the Time Off Policies tab and click Add Time Off Policy. Give it a name, assign it to groups or members (unassigned policies apply to everyone) and choose Paid or Unpaid.
For a paid policy, pick the accrual schedule: None gives the full yearly amount at once, Annual credits it on a set date and Monthly credits a share each month. You can exclude public holidays and weekly offs so they don't eat into leave, and allow carry-forward with an expiry. An unpaid policy is a natural fit for LWP (leave without pay), counted in days or hours.
Before you build these, decide your own rules for casual, sick and earned leave and comp off. Our leave policy guide for private companies and the explainer on earned leave rules and calculation cover what Indian employers typically offer.
For managers: add, approve or reject time off in Jibble
Owners and admins see every request; managers see requests from the people they manage. A manager's own leave has to be approved by an owner or admin.
- To approve on the web, go to Time Off, then Overview, find the request and click the green approve button, then confirm.
- To reject, click the red reject button and confirm. The balance is restored if the policy has an entitlement.
- To approve on the app, go to Menu, then Time Off, stay on Overview, tap the request and tap Approve.
- To add leave for someone, such as a field worker without the app, click Add Time Off, select the member and policy, set the dates and save.
- For many requests, tick the checkboxes on the web and use Approve, Reject or Cancel in bulk.
Can't apply leave in Jibble? Things to check
If the Request Time Off button is missing or a leave type doesn't appear, the cause is usually on the admin's side. Ask them to check that a time off policy exists and is assigned to you or your group, that your role allows you to request leave, and which features your organisation's Jibble plan includes. If the half-day box is missing, the policy is probably counted in hours rather than days. And if a balance looks wrong, an admin can adjust it from Leave Balance using the pencil icon, with a reason.
Leave and attendance live in the same Jibble account, so if your clock-ins themselves are failing, our walkthrough of Jibble's members, locations and kiosk setup has the fixes. For the same leave and clock-in steps in other tools, see our roundup of HR app attendance and leave steps.
Applying leave in Attend Mitra instead
In Attend Mitra, leave is a separate module (₹9 per employee per month before 18% GST, with bundle discounts when combined with attendance). The steps are in how to request and approve leave, and our leave management module page covers policies and accruals.
- The employee opens Leave in the app and selects Request Leave.
- They choose dates, leave type and a reason, and submit.
- The manager approves or rejects it from Leaves / Requests in the web dashboard, with a calendar view of who else is off.
- Approved leave flows into attendance and payroll, so LOP days are counted without retyping.
