How to mark attendance in the HROne app

To mark attendance in HROne, open the HROne app, sign in with the login your company's HR team set up for you, tap Mark Attendance on the home screen and submit. HROne fetches the in-time and out-time from the system; if your company uses geofencing or live photo capture, you'll need to be inside the allowed area and take a photo before the punch is accepted.

If you're at a client site, raise an On Duty request instead, and if you forgot to punch, raise an Attendance Regularisation request. Both are covered below.

Attend Mitra isn't affiliated with HROne; we make a competing attendance app, and the steps here come from HROne's own website and app store listing. HROne is configured per company, so your HR admin decides which options and labels you see.

What is the HROne app, and how employees log in

HROne is an Indian HR and payroll software. Its employee app is listed on the App Store as HROne by Uneecops Workplace Solutions Private Limited, and on Google Play under the same name; HROne's site calls it HROneInbox 2.0 and describes it as a replica of the web version. Employees use it to mark attendance, apply for leave and on duty, see payslips and track requests; managers use it to approve requests.

There's no public sign-up. Your employer has to be an HROne customer and add you as an employee before the app will let you in.

  • Download HROne from the Google Play Store or App Store; check the developer name, Uneecops Workplace Solutions, so you get the right app.
  • Open the app and sign in with the details your HR team shared. The app's release notes mention logging in with the same active mobile number across devices, so your company may set you up with your mobile number.
  • On a laptop, use your company's HROne web portal link, which HR shares with you.
  • Forgot your HROne attendance login password? Use the reset option on the login screen if your company has it turned on; otherwise ask HR to reset it.
  • Allow location and camera access when the app asks, because geofenced or photo attendance won't work without them.

Mark attendance in the HROne mobile app, step by step

HROne's attendance guide calls daily punching from the office its first type of attendance marking. The flow is short:

  • Open the HROne app and stay on the Home screen.
  • Tap Mark Attendance.
  • If your company uses live photo or face liveness checks, look at the front camera and let it capture your photo.
  • If geofencing is on, make sure you're physically inside the radius set for your office, site or client location; HROne only allows check-in within it.
  • Check the in-time and out-time HROne has fetched, then tap Submit.
  • Follow your company's rule for punching out at the end of the day, which HR sets in the check-in policy.

HROne attendance on the web and other channels

The mobile app is only one way HROne records attendance. Its attendance pages list these channels, and your company may use one or several:

  • Web portal: office staff punch in from a desktop or laptop browser.
  • Biometric machines: fingerprint and face devices from brands such as ESSL, ZKTeco, Suprema and BIOMAX sync into HROne.
  • WhatsApp bot: punch in and out through chat without installing the app.
  • Microsoft Teams bot: HROne says attendance can be marked in two steps; HR has to enable it for your organisation.
  • Selfie with GPS tagging for field staff and delivery teams, and offline attendance, which the app lists among its employee features.

On duty in HROne: attendance from a client site

If you spent the day at a client's office, on a sales visit or at an event, mark it as On Duty (OD) so the day isn't treated as absent:

  • Click Request and raise a new request.
  • Select the On Duty option (top right of the screen).
  • Choose the OD date or date range.
  • Pick or type the reason, enter start and end time and add comments if needed.
  • Click Add, then Submit. The request goes to your reporting manager, HR or both, depending on your company's approval workflow.

Regularise attendance in HROne (forgot in or out)

Missed a punch because your phone died or you forgot? HROne handles back-dated corrections through Attendance Regularisation:

  • Click Request and raise a new request.
  • Select Attendance Regularisation (top right of the screen).
  • Pick the date from the calendar; you can select a range.
  • Choose Forgot In, Forgot Out or Both.
  • Enter the start and end time and submit for approval.
  • Raise it quickly: HR can set an arrear limit, such as 30 or 60 days, beyond which corrections aren't allowed. Our guide on handling missed punches in payroll explains why the cut-off matters for salary.

For managers: approving HROne attendance

HROne's app gives managers bulk actions on attendance: they can approve or reject requests in bulk, including on-duty requests, from the phone, and the app sends reminders for pending tasks. Employees can track the status of each request. If your team's requests pile up at month end, approving them before the payroll cut-off avoids LOP disputes.

HROne attendance not marking? What to check

  • Mark Attendance button missing: the check-in policy isn't configured for you, or your company records attendance through biometrics only. Ask HR.
  • Outside geofence error: turn on location with high accuracy, step outside for a fresh GPS fix, and confirm HR has the right site on your profile.
  • Photo or face check fails: allow camera access, clean the lens and retake in good light.
  • Can't log in: confirm you're using the mobile number or ID HR registered; HR can reset access.
  • Punch not showing: raise a regularisation request instead of punching again.
  • App errors after a phone update: update HROne from the Play Store or App Store, then sign in again.

Doing the same in Attend Mitra, and who would switch

Attend Mitra suits teams that want simple verified mobile attendance priced per employee: ₹29 a month for Attendance, or ₹41.40 with face, GPS and Wi-Fi checks, before 18% GST, with a 14-day free trial. If you rely on existing fingerprint machines, HROne's biometric integrations are a strength; Attend Mitra connects them only through a custom setup on larger plans. Our mobile attendance app page shows the employee experience, and the hub on marking attendance in HR apps covers other tools.

For comparison, an Attend Mitra employee clocks in like this, on Android or iOS, with punches saved offline and synced once the phone reconnects:
