Is Keka free?
No. Keka has no free-forever plan for businesses. As listed on its pricing page in October 2026, Keka’s HRMS and payroll plans are paid, prices aren’t published (you request a quote), and its FAQ says a nominal setup fee applies for onboarding. The plans do carry a Free Trial button, so a company can try Keka before buying.
For employees the answer is different: the Keka app is free to download, and you don’t pay anything to use it. Your employer pays for the subscription, and you sign in with the account they created for you.
Attend Mitra isn’t affiliated with Keka; we make a competing attendance and HR app, and the facts below come from Keka’s own website, help center and app store listing.
Keka plans and pricing in 2026
Keka’s pricing page groups plans into three product lines. None shows a rupee price; each asks you to contact Keka or start a trial.
- HRMS & Payroll: Foundation, Strength and Growth, each with a Free Trial button.
- Hiring: Pro and Advanced, also with a Free Trial button.
- Projects & Timesheets (PSA): Basic, Pro and Advanced, with a Talk to us button instead of a trial.
- Attendance on Foundation is described as gamified attendance tracking for office, remote and hybrid staff.
- Selfie clock-in, continuous location punching and geofencing are listed from the Strength plan up, and Growth includes everything in Strength.
Keka free trial: what to expect
Keka doesn’t state the trial length on its pricing page, so check the duration when you sign up or speak to its sales team. To make the trial worthwhile, test the parts you’d actually use: set up one real shift, have a few employees clock in from their own phones, and run a test payroll month.
Budget for the setup fee as well as the subscription, and remember that Indian software prices are normally quoted before 18% GST. If you want to compare published prices side by side, our attendance software cost breakdown works through ten tools for a 50-person team.
What Keka gives away for free
A few things from Keka really are free. Its website has a free payslip generator that needs no signup: you enter company and employee details, paid and LOP days, earnings and deductions, then download the slip as a PDF or Excel file. That’s handy for a very small team, but it isn’t attendance tracking or payroll processing.
If you need free attendance software rather than a free trial, look at our list of free attendance tools for Indian businesses, which explains the limits that usually come with them.
Is Keka an Indian company?
Yes. Keka was founded in Hyderabad in 2014 by Vijay Yalamanchili, who is its CEO, and its headquarters are in Hyderabad, with operations in Singapore and the United States. The company behind it is Keka Technologies; its App Store listing names Keka Inc as the provider. In 2022 Keka raised a $57 million Series A led by WestBridge Capital. Its website lists Indian offices in cities including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai and Pune.
Is Keka an HRIS or HRMS?
Keka calls its core product HRMS & Payroll. In everyday use, HRMS (human resource management system) and HRIS (human resource information system) mean much the same thing: one system for employee records, attendance, leave and payroll. Keka goes beyond the basics with hiring, performance and project timesheet products, but it isn’t an ERP; it doesn’t handle accounting, inventory or sales.
Keka app download and login
The Keka employee app is on Google Play and the App Store. Its listing covers viewing holidays, applying for leave, checking leave balances, comp off, WFH and on-duty requests, remote clock-in with location and selfie, attendance logs, team approvals and payslips. On a Windows PC or Mac, use Keka in your web browser; Keka’s help pages describe Web Clock-In as a browser feature, and we didn’t find a separate Windows app from Keka.
Payslips in Keka are under My Finances, then My Pay, then Payslips, once payroll has released them. If the PDF asks for a password, Keka says to use your PAN in capital letters.
Keka not working? Login and password fixes
When Keka seems down, first check whether colleagues have the same problem; if it’s only you, it’s usually your account or phone settings.
- Password not working: Keka’s documented fix is for your admin to send a reset link to your registered email.
- Microsoft or Google sign-in fails: use your work account, not a personal one.
- OTP not arriving: your mobile number in Keka may be old. Ask HR to update it.
- Captcha not loading: refresh the page or try another browser.
- Login disabled after a long leave or exit: an admin can turn it back on with Enable Login from your profile.
- App not working: update the app, check its location permission, then sign out and back in.
- Only use the Keka link your employer gave you, and download the app from the official stores.
A paid alternative with published prices: Attend Mitra
Attend Mitra isn’t free either; there’s a 14-day free trial and no free-forever plan. The difference is that prices are published per employee per month, before 18% GST: Attendance ₹29, Verified Attendance (face, GPS and Wi-Fi checks) ₹16, Leave ₹9 and Payroll ₹32, with bundle discounts on two or more modules. Attendance with Verified Attendance comes to ₹41.40 per employee. See Attend Mitra’s module prices or compare it with nine other tools in our best attendance software in India comparison.
It suits small and mid-size Indian teams that mainly need attendance, leave and payroll on phones, including offline punches. If you need Keka’s hiring and performance suite, Keka remains the better fit. For day-to-day Keka use, see how to clock in on Keka and applying for leave, WFH and comp off in Keka.
