Is Jibble Really Free? What the Free Plan Covers, What It Doesn't, and Is It Safe

Jibble advertises free forever for unlimited users. Here's what that includes, what its paid plans add, what an Indian business still needs elsewhere, and how Jibble handles your data.

Is Jibble really free: Jibble's free plan features compared with paid plans and payroll needs in India

Is Jibble free? The short answer

Yes. Jibble's pricing page, checked on 22 October 2026, says Jibble is free forever for unlimited users, with no per-user charge on the free tier. That free tier covers mobile, web and desktop clock-ins, basic timesheets, and integrations with Slack, Microsoft Teams and QuickBooks.

Attend Mitra isn't affiliated with Jibble; we make a competing, paid attendance app, and the facts below come from Jibble's own pricing page, help centre and privacy policy.

So the real question isn't whether Jibble is free, but whether the free part covers what your company needs. That depends on which extra features you want, and on how you plan to run payroll in India.

What Jibble's free plan includes

Jibble's own FAQ describes the free offer as desktop time tracking, mobile and web clock-ins, basic timesheets and the three integrations above, at no cost, for unlimited users. The same page lists a much longer feature set for the product as a whole:

  • Verification at clock-in: face recognition, selfie capture, GPS tracking, geofencing, and NFC and PIN.
  • A kiosk mode for shared tablets, and an offline mode for the mobile app.
  • Time off (leave) management and work schedules.
  • Reports and exports to XLS or CSV.
  • Payroll exports to Xero, QuickBooks and Deel.

Jibble free vs paid: what the paid plans add

This is where it gets less clear. In October 2026 the pricing page doesn't say which of those features sit on the free tier and which need a paid plan, and it shows no paid prices at all. Jibble's help centre refers to paid plans called Premium and Ultimate; an older help article describes Premium as adding policies, timesheet approvals, data exports and multiple user levels, and Ultimate as adding client billing and desktop productivity tracking on top.

The same help article says paid plans can be tried free for 14 days without a credit card, and that cancellations take effect at the end of the billing cycle without refunds. Third-party review sites quote a range of dollar prices for Premium and Ultimate, but because Jibble doesn't publish them on its own pricing page right now, we haven't repeated any figure here. If you need a feature that turns out to be paid, ask Jibble for a quote in rupees and check whether GST is added.

A practical way to find out: sign up free, invite a few people, and switch on the exact settings you need, such as face recognition, a geofence and leave balances. If a setting asks you to upgrade, you have your answer before you roll it out to everyone.

What a free Jibble account doesn't cover for an Indian business

Attendance is only half the monthly job. Once you know who worked how many days, someone still has to work out salary, LOP deductions, overtime, PF, ESI, Professional Tax and TDS, and produce payslips. Jibble lists payroll as exports to Xero, QuickBooks and Deel; it doesn't list Indian statutory payroll calculations.

  • Payroll: plan to export Jibble timesheets into your payroll software or hand them to your CA.
  • Statutory items: PF, ESI, PT and TDS would be worked out in that payroll tool, not in Jibble.
  • Leave rules: Indian leave types such as casual, sick, earned leave and comp off can be set up as Jibble time off policies (our guide to applying and approving leave in Jibble shows how), but check which approval and balance features your plan includes.
  • Billing: if you do upgrade, confirm the currency and whether you'll get a GST invoice your accountant can use.

Is Jibble safe and legit?

Jibble is an established time-tracking product with apps on Google Play and the App Store and a public privacy policy. That policy says data is encrypted when stored on disk and when sent over the network, only authorised Jibble staff can access user data, and current Jibble data is stored in Amazon Web Services' Ireland region.

For face recognition, the policy says Jibble processes encrypted biometric templates only to check identity, and that the templates can't be turned back into a picture of your face. When a company uses Jibble for its staff, the employer is the data controller and Jibble is the processor, so your employer decides what's collected. Personal data is removed when an account is deleted, and all data when an organisation is deleted.

Whichever app you pick, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act means you should tell staff what location and face data you collect and why, and get their consent. Our explainer on how face recognition attendance works covers the basics.

How to start with Jibble's free plan

Setting up the free plan takes a few minutes, and our guide to using Jibble for attendance walks through each screen.

  • Sign up on Jibble's website and verify your email address.
  • Add members from the People page, by invite link, email or mobile number.
  • Add your sites on the Locations page and choose the clock-in checks under Time Tracking Settings.
  • Ask staff to download the Jibble app from Google Play or the App Store and log in.
  • Run it alongside your current register for a week before relying on it for salary.

When free is enough, and when to pay for an attendance app

Free is usually enough for a small office or agency whose payroll is already handled by an accountant, and where staff clock in from their own phones. It's worth paying for a tool when you want attendance, leave and salary in one place, or when the time spent moving data between apps every month costs more than a subscription. Our round-up of free attendance software in India compares the other zero-cost options, and the attendance software cost guide prices the paid ones for 20, 50 and 200 staff.

Where Attend Mitra fits

Attend Mitra has no free-forever plan, so it isn't a like-for-like swap for Jibble's free tier. It's priced per employee per month before 18% GST: Attendance ₹29, Verified Attendance (face, GPS geofence and office Wi-Fi checks) ₹16, Leave ₹9 and Payroll ₹32, with 8% off when you take two or more modules. Attendance with Verified Attendance comes to ₹41.40 per employee.

It's a better fit if you want the attendance data to feed a payroll module that calculates PF, ESI, TDS and PT and creates payslips, while filing stays with you or your CA. You can try every module free for 14 days; module prices and bundles are on the plans page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Jibble app free?
Yes. Jibble's pricing page says the product is free forever for unlimited users, including mobile, web and desktop clock-ins, basic timesheets and Slack, Microsoft Teams and QuickBooks integrations. Some features may need a paid plan, so check settings before rolling out.
Is Jibble really free forever?
Jibble's pricing page uses the words free forever and says the free tier costs nothing for unlimited users. Paid plans (Premium and Ultimate) exist for extra features, but there's no time limit on the free tier.
What is the difference between Jibble free and paid?
The free tier covers core clock-ins and basic timesheets. Jibble's help centre describes paid plans as adding things like policies, timesheet approvals, exports and extra management layers. In October 2026 the pricing page doesn't list paid prices, so ask Jibble for a quote.
Is Jibble safe to use?
Jibble's privacy policy says data is encrypted at rest and in transit, stored in AWS's Ireland region, and that face data is kept as encrypted templates used only for identity checks. Your employer controls what data is collected about you.
Does Jibble have a free trial?
The free tier itself has no time limit. For paid features, Jibble's help centre says you can try paid plans free for 14 days without a credit card.
Can Jibble calculate PF and ESI?
Jibble doesn't list Indian statutory payroll. It lists payroll exports to Xero, QuickBooks and Deel, so PF, ESI, PT and TDS would be worked out in your payroll software or by your CA.
