What is greytHR?
greytHR is HR and payroll software for Indian companies, made by Greytip Software. It is payroll-first: every plan runs Indian payroll with statutory compliance, and higher plans add attendance, leave workflows and more HR modules around it. Employees use the greytHR ESS web portal or the greytHR app to see payslips, apply for leave and, where enabled, mark attendance. Its contact page lists Bengaluru first, along with regional offices including Noida.
This review is independent: Attend Mitra makes a competing product, and we are not affiliated with greytHR. Facts come from greytHR's own pricing, product and help pages, checked in October 2026.
greytHR features
Payroll is where greytHR is strongest. Its pricing page lists PF calculations with ECR generation, ESI computations and challans, professional tax with state rules built in, TDS calculations and eTDS returns, Form 24Q with FVU validation, digitally signed Form 16 and 12BA, and Labour Welfare Fund, plus bank transfer formats for major banks and a direct salary transfer option.
Around payroll sit leave management, attendance (from the Growth plan), the employee portal and app, and add-ons such as recruitment, which is priced per recruiter. On the app, attendance can use a selfie, geofence-based automatic sign-in and GPS live tracking, depending on what the company enables; our guide to marking attendance in greytHR walks through each method.
- Payroll: PF and ECR, ESI, PT, TDS and eTDS, Form 24Q, Form 16 and 12BA, LWF, bank transfer files
- Leave: leave types, balances, comp off, WFH and on-duty requests; see applying leave in greytHR
- Attendance (Growth plan and above): app sign-in, selfie, geofence and GPS options, regularisation
- Employee self-service: web portal and mobile app for payslips, leave and attendance
- Add-ons: recruitment per recruiter; GPS live tracking is priced separately
greytHR pricing
As listed on greytHR's pricing page in October 2026, before GST: Essential costs ₹2,495 a month including 50 employees, then ₹45 per extra employee, and includes payroll but not attendance. Growth, the first plan with attendance, costs ₹4,495 a month for 50 employees. There is no free plan; there is a 7-day free trial. The greytHR app and login
The greytHR employee app, published by Greytip Software, is a free download on Google Play and the App Store, but it only works once your employer has a greytHR account and has created your login. Employees sign in with their company's greytHR web address and the Login ID their HR team created, using a password, an OTP or the company's single sign-on, depending on what the company has enabled. Forgotten passwords are reset with Forgot Password on the web login page or by your HR admin. Our guide to marking attendance in greytHR covers the login options and fixes step by step.
Pros
Where greytHR does well, from its own feature set and pricing:
- Payroll compliance depth for India in every plan, including returns and digitally signed certificates
- A flat price for up to 50 employees, which is good value for teams close to 50
- Employee app and web portal that cover payslips, leave and attendance
- Help documentation for employees and admins on its own site
- Regional offices in several cities, including Noida
Cons
Where it may not fit:
- Attendance isn't in the entry plan, so field or site teams need Growth or above
- Small teams pay for a 50-employee slab: a 15-person company pays the same as 50
- No free plan, and the trial is 7 days, which is short for testing a full payroll cycle
- Recruitment and GPS live tracking cost extra
Who greytHR suits
greytHR fits Indian companies of roughly 30 to a few hundred employees that want payroll and statutory compliance handled inside their HR system, mostly with office-based staff. Teams with many staff at client sites or in the field should check how well its attendance plans fit their checks (selfie, geofence, offline), and very small teams should compare per-employee pricing.
greytHR alternatives
If greytHR's slab pricing or attendance tiers don't fit, compare these, all covered in our best HRMS software in India comparison and on our greytHR alternatives in India page:
- Keka: modern HRMS with payroll and performance, from ₹90 per employee a month per its small-companies page
- Zoho People with Zoho Payroll: per-user pricing and a free payroll tier for up to 10 employees
- HROne: geofencing, selfie and offline attendance on its Basic plan, with a Noida office
- Kredily: a free plan with payroll calculations for small teams
- Attend Mitra (ours): per-employee modules with face, GPS and Wi-Fi checked attendance for site and field teams
Verdict
greytHR is a safe, payroll-strong choice for Indian SMEs with office-based staff and a headcount near or above 50. It is less of a fit for very small teams, which pay for a 50-employee slab, and for teams whose main problem is proving attendance at sites, where an attendance-first tool may serve better. Use the 7-day trial to run one real payroll before deciding.
